On this cozy February snow day, I wanted to share some of my favorite spots around our home.
There is a method to what may seem like organized clutter to some in this photo.
For those who don't know, I am disabled with Rheumatoid Disease (RD) aka Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). There are days like the past few, when I'm unable to spend much time out of bed due to my health. On days like these, I need everything that I need within arms reach. I love this nightstand because the surface area lets me do just that plus keep a few trinkets out as well. (Those are more out of view because of this angle. Apologies!) The night stand also has storage underneath, that's where my laptop & tray table are hiding). Emergency meds are mostly in the basket along with hair ties & book lights, post IV session meds are just outside of it (had an IV yesterday, so I'll need those for about 72 hours). Vitamin E oil which I put on my RD irritated skin every night (yep it affects that too). Jam jar with pens, my journal plus reading journal. Books I'm currently reading. Glass of decaf ice tea because it's still too warm for me for hot tea (but that's about to change, snow by morning) and water. That candle stand is actually from the livingroom, it holds my knitting basket nicely so I decided to keep it in here with me for now. I keep up with this space daily as it's the first & last I see daily, and because it's a source of great comfort on days like these.
This bookcase, which I feel also doubles as another mantle because it faces the front door, is one of my favorite spaces in our home. It not only holds my to-reads, but local history books, gardening books and memoirs, Irish authors and history books, plus some misc. books. And then there are the photos of my kitties, long passed, along with seasonal trinkets. Aside from the fact that I swear my to-reads are mocking me every time I walk past, this spot always makes me smile.
Lastly, this is another spot I love, because of the great late afternoon light it gets, almost year round. I love the warm glow of the sunlight; it makes me happy.
So, those are some of my favorite spots around our home for this Friday Favorites! What are some of yours?
